PROCEDURES AND PROTOCOLS


Archdeaconess KarenCeremonial/Clergy Courses


Each year prior to Ordination, current leaders & prospective leaders attend the ceremonial training to be trained in conducting general services, Holy Communion, Baptisms, Confirmations, Funerals, Weddings, Rededication of Vows, Ordination services…etc. These courses are designed to help leaders understand how to perform each ceremony as required. Free training for approved leaders/clergy up to Diploma level of Theology (equivalent to Deacon/Deaconess level of ordination).


Theological Study

The Anglican Independent Communion Worldwide has theological course of study from Certificate level through to Diploma level which can be studied either via correspondence or in a class room setting, Degree level study can be either studied via AICW or through a recognised tertiary institution. These theological studies can assist both congregation members & leaders alike.


Deacons and Deaconess’ are expected to either have or be studying for a theological diploma (as a minimum requirement), priests are expected to either have or be studying for a theological degree (as a minimum requirement), bishops are expected to either have or be studying for a second tertiary qualification so that they have both a theological degree as well as a managerial/ business tertiary qualification to be able to oversee clergy appropriately and professionally (as a minimum requirement).
