Welcome to the Anglican Independent Communion Australia

We uphold the Holy Bible as God’s inspired Word and affirm the Book of Common Prayer, the Ordinal, and the 39 Articles of Religion as faithful summaries of our faith. We recognise the two Gospel Sacraments: Holy Baptism, which brings us into Christ and is completed in Confirmation, and Holy Communion, which unites us with Christ’s Sacrifice and nourishes us with His Body and Blood.

We maintain the Holy Orders of Bishops, Priests, and Deacons, and in keeping with Scripture and Church Tradition, believe these roles are reserved for men. In obedience to Christ’s command, we are committed to mission and evangelism through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Who We Are

Chairman, Bishop Charles May O.S.B., V.O.S.C leads the Anglican Independent Communion Australia Inc.

We are a traditional Anglican church with roots in England. While independent from the Anglican Church of Australia (ACA) and other Anglican bodies, we are in fellowship with the Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON). As a “Continuing Church,” we uphold the faith and teachings of the Church of England before modern liberal influences.

Our Ministry

Since 2006, AICA has prioritised meaningful ministry over conventional parish services. Our chaplaincy and worship services in retirement villages and nursing homes allow residents to worship on the day they grew up attending church—entirely at our own expense, without taking offerings.

We also focus on workplace chaplaincy and youth religious education, filling gaps often overlooked in ministry. With growing demand for dedicated clergy, we seek committed individuals to serve in these vital roles.

Join Us

If you feel called to our mission, we invite you to apply via our Contact Us page. We offer free training up to a Diploma in Theology (equivalent to Deacon/Deaconess ordination level). All clergy must actively serve in ministry to justify their ordination and leadership roles.

Join us in keeping the faith alive and serving where it’s needed most.
