Arch-Deacon Dr Karen Anderson has been faithfully serving in Christian ministry for over two decades, combining her love of teaching, pastoral care, and community service with deep personal faith and practical leadership.
Ordained as Reverend Deaconess in 2006 and later appointed Arch-Deacon and Diocesan Treasurer, Karen supports church operations through liturgical duties, administrative assistance and daily prayer. She holds regular home Bible studies and leads worship and pastoral care in aged care facilities—chaplain since 2003 and conducting Sunday services since 2006.
Karen has a strong calling to teach the next generation about God’s love. Since 1998, she has taught Religious Education (RE) in state primary schools and currently coordinates and teaches RE at Redlands Special School, working with students across a wide range of learning needs.

Spiritual Journey
Karen’s Christian journey began in early childhood, with baptism and confirmation, and was deepened through a powerful personal commitment to Christ during an outreach session. Her church involvement has spanned several denominations including Anglican, Baptist, and the Salvation Army, ultimately leading her back to the Anglican tradition in 2002, where she has continued to grow and serve.

Professional Life
Since 1997, Karen has run her own bookkeeping and accounting business, which offers both flexibility and financial provision to support her extensive ministry work. She has also worked as a consultant and internationally accredited auditor in quality and food safety systems.

Karen holds multiple black belts and awards in self-defence disciplines:
- 5th Dan Black Belt – San Chi Kai Freestyle Karate
- 3rd Dan – International Self Defence Association
- 1st Dan – Kyushokan Martial Arts
- Brown Belt – San Ryu Do (Japanese Swordsmanship)
- Bushido Award (2010)
