Holy Baptism (Christening)

Baptism is available for anyone seeking it, whether for themselves or their children. In the AIC, it can be held during a scheduled public service or as a private ceremony at a location of your choice—your home, garden, a favourite spot, or a hired venue.

Baptism marks a fresh start, celebrating one’s commitment to the Christian faith and ongoing spiritual growth. For children and babies, parents and godparents pledge to guide them in faith and seek the Church’s support in teaching them about Jesus Christ. It is also a joyful recognition of new life as a gift from God, shared with the Church community.

Arranging a Baptism

To organise a baptism, contact your nearest AIC clergy (go to Contact Us or reach out directly well in advance of your preferred date. A brief meeting with the Priest will be arranged to go over details and discuss the significance of Baptism. Where possible, both parents and godparents should attend.

A donation of $100 (negotiable) to the Anglican Independent Communion Australia is requested before the Baptism/Naming ceremony, whether civil or religious.
