Structure & Communion
- The Anglican Independent Communion Australia Inc. (AIC Australia), referred to as ‘the Church’, includes the British Diocese known as the Diocese of King Charles the First of England the Martyr.
- The Church is in full communion with the Anglican Independent Communion Worldwide and other like-faith churches as determined by the International College of Archbishops.
- The Church follows the historic Catholic Creeds and Ecumenical Councils, as developed in the Anglican tradition, and is a Continuing Church of the traditional Anglican Communion.
- The Church is a union of traditional Anglican clergy maintaining orthodoxy for the salvation of humanity and the glory of God. Accordingly, it affirms:
- Jesus Christ as the Head of the Church, and its members as His servants.
- The Holy Scriptures (King James Version & New King James Version) as containing all necessary for salvation.
- The use of the Book of Common Prayer in authorised versions to maintain orthodox liturgy and worship.
- The 39 Articles of Religion as applied to time and place, upholding the principles of Scripture, Tradition, and Reason.
- The Holy Orders of Bishop, Priest, and Deacon, requiring officeholders to be men of high moral character.
- The independence of congregations in property ownership, with clergy serving the Body of Christ collectively.
- No bishop, priest, deacon, or deaconess shall enter into inter-communion agreements with other churches without the written consent of the Archbishop.
- No bishop, priest, deacon, or deaconess shall act as Episcopal Visitor to any religious order without the written consent of the Archbishop.
- No bishop, priest, deacon, or deaconess shall engage in a personal Prelature with any Clerk in Holy Orders without the written consent of the Archbishop.
- No bishop or priest shall concelebrate the Eucharist with any female priest or bishop of any jurisdiction.
- The Priestly Order of Companions of Jesus (C.J.)
- A monastic Order within the Anglican Independent Communion following the traditions of St. Francis of Assisi.
- The Archabishop serves as Lord Abbot.
- Membership is open to all priests (by nomination and acceptance by the Presiding Bishop/Lord Abbot/Grand Prior).
- The Lord Abbot may invite male priests or ministers from other like-faith denominations.
- The Order of St. Benedict is open to AIC Australia members upon nomination and acceptance.
- Members commit to daily prayer, scripture study, and charitable works.
- At meetings, members wear a white alb with a rope cincture/girdle.
- No oblations (monetary offerings) are collected.
- The Military and Religious Order of St. Cornelius the Centurion shall be under the Church’s Spiritual Protection.
